About Us

We are part of the larger parish of Ingham, Ampton and Great and Little Livermere and we all worship together around the three churches.

St. Bartholomew's Church is used as both a place of worship and as a Community Centre. The tower is older than the rest of the church walling and dates from the middle of the 14th century.

The interior of the church was remodelled in 1861 and in 1986 the Victorian pews and pulpit were removed, the nave is now used much as it was before the Reformation. A catering kitchen and toilet have been added and the last major project was to install new heating so that the building is now comfortably warm.

The church also has a memoral to a previous rector, Canon Richard Norburn, who was the founder of St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.

There is plenty of parking for visitors in the churchyard to the north of the church.

The church is open daily in daylight hours.

It also houses a food pantry, in the porch, which is stocked as funds are available and from which anyone in need can help themselves

There is a monthly Sm@11 (Sunday morning at 11)  all age, informal service on the 1st Sunday of each month.  Common Worship Holy Communion is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 10am and Common Worship Morning Prayer is said on the 1st Friday morning at 9am.

We also run a weekly Cup and Chatter time from 10 to 11.30am every Thursday and a stitching group on alternate Monday afternoons and an art group on alternate Thurdsay afternoons.  All are welcome to any of these activities.

Our aim is to worship the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to teach the bible in a way that is relevant to everyday life, to enable people to grow in faith, understanding and love, equip people to serve and to offer people the opportunity to meet with Jesus and discover forgiveness and new life.
