Safeguarding
Safeguarding in the Combs and Finborough Benefice
It is morally and legally right, and also our Christian duty, to provide a safe environment where all can flourish. We act promptly on any complaints made, working in close partnership with the St Edmundsbury & Ipswich Diocesan Office on any such matters. Our staff and volunteers who work with children and vulnerable adults are provided with safeguarding training and support.
When churches or individuals fall short of their duty of care, or there are any safeguarding concerns about a child or vulnerable adult, the matter should be reported without delay.
We have adopted and adhere to the House of Bishops Promoting a Safer Church policies and procedures. We are currently gong through a Safer Recruitment process for the role of Safeguarding Officer. Until this process is complete and we have a named and fully trained individual in place, please direct all your safeguarding concerns to either Karen Galloway- Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (07785621319)) or Shelley Thomas- Assistant Safeguarding Officer (07795974734), email [email protected]
Remember, if it doesn't feel right, report it. Your information could be the missing piece of the jigsaw.

The Parochial Church Councils of the Combs and Finborough Benefice review their specific commitments to safeguarding annually and have adopted The Church of England’s Safeguarding Policy for children, young people and adults, “Promoting a Safer Church” (July 2017) which can be accessed here (link).
