Taking place on the Wednesday of Holy Week is our Tenebrae service. A tenebrae service is very different to a typical church service and feastures the gradual extinguishing of the candles in the church throughout the service, with a loud and sudden noise produced right at the end as the church is in darkness. It is a very powerful service and can be rather moving.

Welcome to St. Peter and St. Paul Olney! We would love to welcome you to any of our Sunday or weekday services and events, or as a visitor to our 14th Century church where, in 1773, the hymn "Amazing Grace" (written by John Newton while he was minister at the church) was first sung.
