DEBT AND GIVING: 2024
If you are in debt, please seek help: The Suffolk Coastal Debt Centre now has a dedicated section of the SKC website: https://www.skc.church/cap
SKC stands for the Benefice of Saxmundham with Kelsale cum Carlton and CAP stands for Christians Against Poverty.
There is a free phoneline: if you are weighed down by debt call FREE on 0800328006 or find us at capdebthelp.org
There are also other organisations like Stepchange and the CAB: Citizens Advice Bureau: although they cannot give you financial aid, they can often do a great deal to reduce the harassment that debt attracts and negotiate or stop ever-increasing demands for repayment.
DON'T SIT IN SILENCE - SEEK HELP
GIVING: From the Book of Common Prayer: "Be merciful after thy power. If thou hast much, give plenteously; if thou hast little do thy diligence gladly to give of that little; for so gatherest thou thyself a good reward in the day of necessity"
This year our share of the Parish Share is over £52,000 and this is on top of the finance needed to actually run the church, pay for ecclesiastical insurance, energy costs, admin, music, the website etc; if you are able to, please review your giving to enable us to go on serving the community.
All methods of giving remain available:
1) BACS payments: if you would like to make a BACS payment, please contact Sally Wainman (Local Giving Advisor)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2) Gift Aid: Increase your donation by 25% at no extra cost to yourself!
If you are eligible for Gift Aid please pick up a form from the church or print one off and send or give it to me. (You must pay the equivalent amount in UK Tax for anything that you gift)
Parish Giving Scheme: Direct Debit
We welcome donations in any form but a monthly direct debit is amongst the most helpful because it brings stability to the finances and helps us to plan ahead.
It incorporates two voluntary "opt-ins": ticking the box for Gift Aid and/or ticking the box for something called Inflationary Giving, which simply means a small voluntary increase once a year. You receive annual notice of this and can always decline the increase.
The Scheme is run centrally in Gloucester, but you have control over your own account and can also increase or decrease the commitment.
The details you need are as follows:
Parish: Kesgrave All Saints
Diocese: St Eds and Ips Diocese
Parish Reference: 330633093 (this ensures your donation goes to the right parish!)
