On this day we remember that Jesus died on a wooden cross alongside two criminals after being condemned to death by a crowd. He made the ultimate sacrifice for our sake and the cross has become the symbol that Christians carry with them physically or in their hearts to remind themselves and others of Jesus' love for us.
At our 2pm service we will spend time reflecting on the cross being the focal point for our worship.
The hot cross bun was originally baked, as a symbol of the crucifixion, to be eaten on this day to mark the end of Lent.
