Also called by some Holy Communion and by others the Lord's Supper, this service is central to our worship as Christians. The service, which includes hymns, prayers, readings from the Bible, and a sermon or address as well as the sharing of bread and wine in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus, is taken from "Common Worship : Services and Prayers for the Church of England" published in 2000. It is in contemporary language and lasts between 60 and 75 minutes.
Gluten-free wafers are available. Please advise us when you arrive.
It is often followed by tea/coffee and some wonderful home-made cakes. (Gluten-free available).
Very occasionally, if there is a united service elsewhere in the benefice, this service may not take place. Please check the entries under the "One-off events" tab where there will be a notice advising of this and announcing where the service will be.
