This is a congregation of families with children from across the Benefice and beyond that meets on the first (or sometimes the second) Sunday of every month apart from August. We start at 4.30pm and the usual pattern is a 40 minute period of crafts in the Church hall before moving to the adjacent Church for a short, lively 20 minutes of worship and then returning to the hall for a sit down meal and fellowship. The aim is that we finish by 6pm so that families can get home to put younger people to bed. However many tend to stay on chatting and making new friends. In July this congregation and the morning congregations come together for a barbecue on the grass behind the Church which is always hugely popular. A bouncy castle tends to keep the youngsters happy.
In December 2024, with the help of a grant from the Diocesan Growth Fund, we purchased 6 computer tablets and and installed a WiFi to enable us to update our offering. That month we held our first Minecraft Church at which the older children build their view of the Nativity on the tablets whilst the younger ones did the same using Lego or Duplo.
Obviously with catering and crafts we need to have a reasonable idea of numbers expected s attendees are encouraged to email [email protected] with numbers and any dietary requirements.
Those who register will receive an email each weekend with the Young Church Magazine attached. An example of this is attached for your information
