We would love to see the children and parents at our monthly Families@4:30 sessions, normally held on the first Sunday of each month (see attached). As the name implies, these are for the whole family and start at 4:30pm. These sessions are a bit like a mini J-team. Each session has a theme and usually starts with about 45 mins of crafts etc in the hall during which, if necessary, you can help your child, or just use the time to chat with other parents. This is followed by about 15 mins in church for a short, lively, child-friendly act of worship before we return to the hall for a sit-down two-course meal. The next session is on 3rd September when we will have a Harvest theme. If you would like to come and give it a try just email rogercolthorpe@aol.com with details who is coming and any special dietary requirements. Each week an email is sent to those families who have requested it. This email includes a weekly Young Church magazine as well as any information about forthcoming events etc, particularly those aimed at young families and including an invite to the upcoming Families@4:30 sessions. If you are not already on this mailing list, and would like to receive this weekly mailing, please let us know and we will add you. To be removed from the list all you have to do is reply to the email to let us know.
On 17th March, Bishop Mike issued the following statement to PCC members that can now be shared with everyone."Interviews for the post of Rector of this benefice were held on Thursday 16 March. The panel did not make an appointment, having discerned there was not a match between the gifts and attributes of the applicant and the needs and aspirations of the benefice. We will, in due course, be re-advertising."Sadly the re-advertising of the vacancy during May has also not attracted a suitable candidate so the search goes on and we pray that we will eventually find the person who can lead us forward. We are sure everyone will agree that it is important that we do find someone who meets our requirements. We thank everyone involved in the selection process to date.We are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong Ministry Team and Churchwardens across our benefice at this time. Please continue to pray for them and for a successful end to the search for a new Rector to lead us and to relieve the Ministry Team and Churchwardens of the additional responsibilities they have carried for the past three years
