Said Eucharist

Every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday at for 30 mins

Regularly during the week, a said Eucharist is celebrated as part of the prayer life of the Order.

On a Feast Day or other special occasion, the said Eucharist may be replaced with a Sung Eucharist at 12 noon.

Mid-day Office

Vespers (Evening Prayer)

Solemn Vespers occurs on major Feast Days throughout the year, including Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.

Compline (Night Prayer)

Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday at for 15 mins

Compline is the last Office of the day.

On Sundays and Tuesdays, the Sisters have a free evening and so there is no corporate Compline.

During Chapter and Retreat times, Compline may be moved to an earlier or later time, or may be said privately by the Sisters.

Mid-day Office

Sung Eucharist

A Sung Eucharist which takes place every Sunday throughout the year. The Sisters of the Order of the Holy Paraclete welcome a local congregation made up of people who have connections with the Order, and visitors to Whitby.

Refreshments are available after the Eucharist some weeks; the dates are advertised in the Chapel porch and in the pew leaflet.
