Messy Church is for families of all the parishes in the Hoxne Benefice and is normally held on the first Sunday of every month in the Village Hall in Syleham (IP21 4LT) with good facilities and parking. All are most welcome but, although we follow safeguarding guidelines, children must bring an adult.
The session starts at 4pm and there are imaginative craft activities with story, song and prayers - all based around a Bible theme. There are plenty of opportunities for families to chat - and we always finish with a 'scrummy' tea for all at around 5-5.15pm!
We now have a WhatsApp group for Messy Church families, so that you can have regular updates: please just let us know if you would like to be included.
We currently cater for younger children but are offering occasional craft activities for older children through newly formed Club Create. These are becoming increasingly popular so please contact us if interested: there is a separate WhatsApp group available for this.
10th Birthday Party! On 1st September we shall celebrate ten years of Messy Church with a party! Invited guests include the Archdeacon of Suffolk and early Messy Churchers, together with the puppets who featured on our videos during lockdown. The usual story, crafts and song - and an extra scrummy tea and some party games.
Christmas Party. There will again be a Christmas party, with an entertainer: this will be on Sunday 8th December at the village hall as usual.
