An Easter Vigil with an 8.00 p.m. service on the Saturday 8th April
This is quite special in the run up to Easter. Historically, it is held in the hours of darkness between sunset on Holy Saturday and sunrise on Easter Day, most commonly in the evening of Holy Saturday and is the first celebration of Easter, days traditionally being considered to begin at sunset. A celebration worth attending when a fire is lit outside the gate and after all have lighted candles from this holy flame a procession is formed into the church bringing the light into the darkened church.
