Donating

Like the vast majority of churches our main income has to come from voluntary giving and donations, mainly from regular members of our congregation and also from donations by visitors.

If you would like to donate, either on a regular basis or as a one-off gift, the Church will be extremely grateful.
Payments can be made online via our donation page here or by using the QR code below.

If you prefer to donate by BACS or set up a standing order, then our bank details are :-
'Alpheton & Shimpling PCC'; Sort Code 60-04-16; Acc No 56293658.

If you are a UK tax payer, we benefit greatly if you sign a gift aid declaration stating your name, address and that you are a UK tax payer. If you want to do so just email Richard Blyth at [email protected]

Restoring the East Window at Shimpling
Many of the fine stained glass windows at Shimpling Church are from the eighteen hundreds although a few fragments of much older glass remain. However the East window above the altar which is Victorian and some of the stonework above is in dire need of repair. The estimate is in the tens of thousands of pounds so any donation for this purpose would be very gratefully received

Organ refurbishment at Alpheton
Alpheton Church is not only a historic building, but it is also a link to the people who have lived, worked and died in the village over hundreds of years. As well as regular running costs, we often have to find large sums to repair and restore the church. The organ at Alpheton church is in need of a full 'service' which is estimated that the maintenance work will cost approximately £4,000

Donate for Restoration Work
If you are able to make a contribution it would be very much appreciated. You can do so by any of the methods above or by cheque - Please let our treasurer Andrew know ( [email protected] ) if your donation is for the organ at Alpheton or for the window work at Shimpling.

Other Ways to Donate
If you are visiting the church you can contribute by cash or cheque made payable to Alpheton & Shimpling PCC and leave your contribution in the wooden box by the main door. Alternatively you could set up a standing order from your bank account to the church's account above. If your payment reference identifies who you are and you have signed a gift aid declaration, the church will then be able to claim 25% gift aid.
