The evening office is celebrated daily in St. Peter's at 6pm except on Mondays when it is said at All Saints' Wardley at 7.00pm. It is lead by the clergy team who are joined by a small group of lay people. All are welcome to join in. On major festivals, Sunday evening prayer is occasionally followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

For half an hour the sacrament is exposed upon the altar in one of our side chapels as a focus for prayer and meditation. There is spoken prayer to begin and end but most of the time is spend in silence. Our 10am Thursday mass follows.

The main Sunday celebration of the Eucharist with sermon, choir and activities for children, using the modern rite with Catholic ceremonial. All ages are represented in the congregation and the average weekly attendance is around 90. On the first Sunday of the month this is a Parade Mass with the young people's uniformed organisations taking part.

Choral Evensong

Stations of the Cross & Mass (monthly)

As well as publicly and corporately praying the Stations of the Cross on each Friday in Lent we have now restored our pre-COVID observance of doing so once a month, on the second Friday, during the rest of the year. We follow with an additional mass at around 8pm. In the Stations we trace the path of Jesus from condemnation by Pilate to his burial in prayer and meditation.
