There have always been some who ask for baptism as an adult, having not been baptised as a child (baptism is by its very nature unrepeatable). But one of the interesting features about the life of Saint Peter's over the last few years has been the increase in adult baptism. From happening once or twice a year, it is now becoming a fairly frequent feature of our church life. Very soon we will be witnessing the baptism as adults of Daniel Shaw and Joanne Ashworth and there are other enquiries at present also. And we have witnessed a number of adult (and children old enough to answer for themselves and too old to be treated as infants) in the last months.
