About Us
All Saints Church is situated on The Cliff/Ugglebarnby Lane between Iburndale and the Scarborough Road.
Access is either up a monks' trod and steps to a grass path from the north (lower) end or through a more flat, narrow path from the south (higher) end of the church. There are three steep stone steps up to the church, with handrail on the wall. The church is currently locked during the day but the key is available a little way below the church (Hawthorn Cottage).
We have a wonderful painted ceiling, and many angels adorning the church, including on buttresses, above the organ and in the vestry, around the font and on the ornate free-standing candelabra in the sanctuary. We have a fine marble reredos. Another unusual feature is the inclusion of Judas Iscariot among the disciples depicted in the windows..
We are a very small but faithful congregation. We have two services a month:
1st Sunday - 9.00am Service of the Word, usually led by one of our Readers.
3rd Sunday - 9.00am Said Eucharist with hymns.
On every 5th Sunday there is a United Benefice Eucharist at 10.30, held in rotation in our Benefice churches, as follows:
2019
June 30 - St Margaret Aislaby
September 29 - St John, Sleights
December 29 - St Hilda, Sneaton
