Join us as we meet in the darkness of our world to welcome in the new light of the Risen Christ.

In this service we shall hear in Scripture the story from Humanity’s first disobedience through to our Salvation, We shall light the Paschal Candle from the Easter Fire, and renew our Baptismal Promises. All while joyfully proclaiming that our God who was dead is now alive and at work among us.

All are welcome, particularly if this is your first time, or first time back!

Safeguarding

Our parish of Sunderland: St Mary & St Peter is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Rev. Susan Sweeting ([email protected]) or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Beth Miller ([email protected]). If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
