Every 2nd Saturday in September for 40years, the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust has been running the famous bike rider fund raiser - invented here in Suffolk and now copied all over England. These days it is known as Ride and Stride as some choose to walk.
All you need to do is plan a route and get friends and family to sponsor you with either a fixed sum or on a Church basis. you can get a sponsor sheet from either Jane Whitehead (01449 740 965) or pat Braithwaite (01449 740813) or from the website https://shct.org.uk/ride-and-stride/
You will get a warm welcome in our Church here in Monks Eleigh and there will be refreshments on offer and we can even provide you with a toilet break. You will also be able to get a sense of our history in this very old Church at St Peters.

Monks Eleigh, St Peter

St Peters Church is situated in the rural village of Monks Eleigh in the Brett Valley. It is sited at the top of an upward sloping village green which is bordered by a collection of Grade ll listed residential meetings and a pub at the bottom of the hill.

A Church has existed on this site for 900 years although the present building dates back to the 14th century.
