During Lent each Village in the Benefice will take weekly turns in hosting a lunch with money donated to a Charity of their choice.

St Peters Monks Eleigh will host the first Charity lunch offering a range of beautifully cooked soups accompanied by bread and cheese and fruit.

The Charity they will be supporting this year in Breakthrough T1D which is supporting research into those suffering Type 1 Diabetes and finding ways to improve their health and care. A number of people in Monks Eleigh have young grandchildren with this disease who will be living without their bodies naturally making insulin and are reliant on a pump.

Please come and enjoy the lunch which is open to everyone, regardless of your village or whether you go to Church.

It will be held on Friday 14th March at 12.30pm in the Monks Eleigh Village Hall

Monks Eleigh, St Peter

St Peters Church is situated in the rural village of Monks Eleigh in the Brett Valley. It is sited at the top of an upward sloping village green which is bordered by a collection of Grade ll listed residential meetings and a pub at the bottom of the hill.

A Church has existed on this site for 900 years although the present building dates back to the 14th century.
