On the morning of Easter Sunday at 7am a Service will be held outside St Peters Monks Eleigh at the foot of our cross. Candles will be lit, Taize songs will be sung and flowers placed on the cross to celebrate Jesus resurrection .

After Jesus was crucified on the Friday, his body was taken down from the cross and buried in a cave tomb. The tomb was guarded by Roman soldiers and an enormous stone was put over the entrance. On Sunday Mary Magdalene and some of Jesus' disciples visited the tomb where they discovered that he was not there and that he had risen from the dead.

Following this service we will go inside the Church for refreshments - a warm drink and some baps with bacon and butter.

This is a moving service and we hope you will be able to join us then.
