Ann took part in a rigorous and interesting course in Preaching during the first part of 2026. We heard her speak at 3 services throughout that period and we wait eagerly for her to preach to us again.Ann will be alongside Rev Mike while he is still here and hopefully will be able to help the new incumbent when that person takes their position.Ann is already an Elder in the Church and is interested in the worship side of that role.
Sadly this means that Rev Mike and Sue will be leaving us. Their last service with us will be Harvest Festival and we will be hosting a lunch for anyone in the Benefice who would like to say goodbye to them. The lunch will be held in Monks Eleigh Village hall from 1pm to 5pm and it will be a bring and share lunch. We hope you will be able to come and share this time with us as we wish Mike and Sue well for the future.
We would like people to know that we take good care of our Church Yards which are regularly cut throughout the summer. We also have 'Tidy Ups' twice a year in Spring and Autumn where we take unwanted ivy and other plants away from some graves however, it is expected that the graves are kept tidy by relatives and it is not our personal responsibility. We also ask that no mental objects are left near the grass as this is dangerous for the person mowing and strimming. There is a service in Hadleigh which provides care for graves should this be something you would like so that the grave you are caring for is kept continually in tip top condition. In Monks Eleigh we now have a brown bin for garden waste which we ask you to use to put dead flowers etc. No metal or plastic are to go into it. There is another bin provided for that.
The Annual Milden Fete takes place on Saturday 8th July 2023 between 2pm and 5pm in the garden of the Old Rectory, Milden. Traditional stalls, light music and refreshments are available - all proceeds go towards the upkeep of St Peter's Church, Milden. All are welcome.
