Martlesham, St Mary the Virgin

St Mary's is usually open from 10am through to 3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for visitors and for private prayer.

St Mary’s dates back to The Doomsday Book, but the current building dates from around the 14th century with extensive work done in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It currently holds traditional communion services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 11 am.

The Church is very popular for weddings, baptisms and funerals due to the very traditional and well kept building and graveyard. In spring the church yard is a profusion of snowdrops and crocuses for visitors to admire.
