On Saturday 24th November 2018, over 250 people attended the commemoration service at church, accompanied by tv cameras and reporters from the BBC and ITV. The 32 men who lost their lives in the mine were remembered by reading their names and the lighting of 32 candles on the new Colliery candle stand that now stands proudly in church.
