About Us
Welcome to the ancient Parish Church of St. Martins, near Oswestry, in Shropshire.
With close ties to the community, we are a lively and friendly village church which enjoys worshipping in different styles and times to suit all ages. The normal Sunday worship service is at 9:30am and is Communion or Service of the Word. This varies during Christmas and Easter. Our Sunday services are generally also live streamed on Zoom, via a link on our own website.
Family history enquiries: please note the church only holds relatively RECENT (approximately 10-20 years) registers of burials and marriages. Please see the separate page we’ve made on Family history about burials specifically. Please try Shropshire Archives at Shrewsbury (online at www.shropshirearchives.co.uk) and www.findmypast.co.uk for our archived parish records.
Weddings and Baptisms: The Church is a popular place for Weddings and Baptisms (Christenings), and our adjoining Chapter House is available for various community activities. There are modern AV facilities in both. We have a large, well kept churchyard and a good sized car park.
Please do look at our website www.stmartinsparish.org.uk or call for more details, and become part of the 1,000 years of worship history here.
