Morning Prayer is held each Second Sunday.
Holy Communion Service each Fourth Sunday. In both services we use the book of Common Prayer, the old 1662 Prayer Book, in this beautiful and ancient Norman Church.

The Bible contains stories of heroes who fought the good fight of the faith, and villains who opposed them. But there are many characters whose lives didn’t start well but still did great things for God. Others began full of promise and hope, but somewhere along the way they lost the vision, lost God, and their story didn’t end well.
All of us are a mixture of hero and villain. Part of us wants to follow God, but something within fails to match up to what He expects. The flaws within us are called sin, and we are all guilty. These are stories of a patient and gracious God. God’s outstretched arm holds us and embraces us.
The first study includes a Songs of Praise event, with Rev David Johnson speaking on Jacob. The others are led by Stephen or Tricia; all include time for discussion, refreshments, and finish by 9pm.

A special service of Holy Communion when children get a bunch of flowers for their mothers, and all women present get flowers too.

A service of Morning Prayer where the story of Jesus' passion and death as told from the Bible.
A palm cross will be given to everyone to take home. Use it as a bookmark, fix it to the fridge, in a vase, to remind you of all it stands for!

On the night before he died Jesus shared a meal with his friends, including bread and wine. Share in a meal at Thornton le Street Village Hall; bring food (sweet or savoury), as friends eating together. If you have time, stay for the service and the watch.
Come for whichever part of the evening you wish and leave whenever you wish.
6 pm Bring-and-share Meal in the village hall, sharing what each of us has brought
7 pm Holy Communion in Church, including food eaten at Passover. This is a chance to be as near as you can get to the first Holy Communion on the night before Jesus died.
8-9 pm Watch in the stillness of the church as if we were in the Garden of Gethsemane

Three hours at the cross. The service centres around the seven ‘words’ of Jesus from the cross, with a meditation on each, interspersed with hymns. Come and go as you wish during the service, or stay throughout. Hear the story, sing the hymns and pray the prayers from the seven ‘words’ of Jesus from the cross. Feel the depth and be amazed at what your Saviour has done.
