St Andrew’s has been fortunate in receiving a significant legacy and is using it to enhance the value of the Church to the community, to have the Church accessible from the lych gate, to keep it open during the week and to provide a toilet and a basic kitchen.
The church path is now repaired and space created inside at the back by removal of five pews, thanks to grants from National Lottery, Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust, RE Chadwick trust and the Church of England disability Project.
The next step is to instal kitchenette, toilet and storage facilities. Here we have received grants from Benefact Trust, the Garfield Weston foundation and the National Churches Trust. More is needed, but we hope to have enough to make a start in January 2025.
