Sunday 4th July '21 marked an important date in the calendar, not only  for Julia and the Glem Valley benefice, but also for the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. Two services at the Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds saw 17 deacons ordained as priests to serve across the county.  Julia presided over her first Communion service at St Mary's Church Glemsford a week later. Following our Rector's retirement this year, she will be leading services around the Glem Valley churches, supported by other Priests and Readers from nearby parishes, while we seek a new Rector.
