The charity ‘Caring for God’s Acre’ promote this national annual event for nine days during June to encourage visitors to record what species they encounter in their local churchyard. It is important to know what plants; grasses; birds; bugs or other wildlife we may see as it will help to monitor the rise or decline of species over a period of years. At St Margaret’s we have taken part in this event for the last three years in our drive to become more eco-friendly and to be aware of what we can do for nature in our churchyard. Everyone was welcome to participate in this Nature Survey and the results are now in and can be viewed in the attached Word Document which has also been forwarded to 'Caring for God's Acre' to be added to the National Biodiversity Network website database.
