The Films and Spirituality sessions are restarting on Tuesday 29 October at 7.00pm in Church House. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. The film to be shown this week is the Oscar winning Japanese film “Departures”, Cert 12A. Anne Davies will lead this session, with a short discussion after the showing of the film.
Soon after buying an expensive cello, Daigo learns that his orchestra is disbanding. He moves back to his hometown with his wife, where he answers an ad for what Daigo thinks is a travel agency but is, in actuality, a mortuary.’
The film follows his profound and sometimes comical journey with death as he uncovers the wonder, joy and meaning of life and living.
