St Matthew's Parish Church

St. Matthews is the parish church for Hutton Buscel and West Ayton.  It dates back to the 12th century and is set in one of the largest churchyards in North Yorkshire.

We hold regular services on Sundays each month, a communion service on Thursday mornings, and a variety of special events throughout the year. The church is currently open in daylight hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  If you are in the area please do pay us a visit, either simply to look around our beautiful church and grounds, or to join us at a service.

Also on Tuesdays, we serve tea and coffee between 1030 and 1200.  Everyone is welcome so come along for a drink and chat!

Safeguarding

Our parish of Hutton Buscel: St Matthew is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
