Lighting of the New Fire, Easter Vigil and Eucharist

Occuring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St John the Baptist, Pockley
Address
Council Houses Pockley York, YO62 7TQ, United Kingdom

We gather in the evening to recall the story of God's saving work, from creation through to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. An experience of new life for the worshipper, a passing from darkness to light which offers hope to all the faithful. Followed by a joyous celebration of Holy Communion. We are reunited in the sacrament of bread and wine with our risen Lord. All the resources of the church, music, flowers, bells, colours, are used to celebrate Christ's resurrection.
Alleluia. Christ is risen - He is risen indeed. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. - Come and join us in the party!
