Our Building

A fine collection of stained glass windows. Many of these are reputedly by Burlison & Grylls, London-based stained-glass glaziers (founded in 1868) whose premises and records were bombed and destroyed in 1945.
Another window by them can be seen in the church of St Mary Magdalene, East Moors.

The church is open daily from 9.00 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. (till 4.00 p.m. in winter).

Grade II* listed building with two fine Norman arches. Rebuilt in 1868 by Victorians on medieval foundations. Work by Temple Moore and Scott Holland. Arts and crafts mural (1908) on north wall. Mid-19th century murals of northern saints in St Columba's chapel (south chapel). Frosterley marble altar in St Aelred's chapel (north chapel).

[For more on Temple Moore, see the information for the other churches in this parish.]
