Maundy Thursday - Fellowship Meal and Communion Service

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
St Barnabas Swanland
Address
Main Street (Corner of St. Barnabas Drive) Swanland North Ferriby, HU14 3QP, United Kingdom

We share a meal together, interspersed with readings from the events of The Last Supper, before sharing communion together.
Please let Sharon in the office know if you are coming to the meal, and of any dietary requirements. You can come just to the communion service which will start c.7.00pm

We start by sharing a meal together, interspersed with readings from the time of The Last Supper, before sharing communion.
The meal will be 3 courses with a generic Middle Eastern theme. Our current plan :
Starter - Mezze and flatbreads (to include hummus, olives, feta, sun-dried tomatoes etc)
Main - Lamb tagine (not spicy) with roasted vegetables and cous cous.
Dessert - Tahini tiramisu with honey-roasted figs (or apricots if we can't get figs).
We can provide gluten-free and dairy-free options if required, and allergies can be catered for if known in advance.
Please let Sharon know MONDAY 14th April AT THE LATEST if you are coming to the meal, and of any dietary requirements.
To answer a few questions about this:
• The meal is a time we gather together to eat and enjoy each other’s company; it is not a “bring-and-share” meal. Richard and Lucy are cooking for us.
• Please come for 6.00pm for the meal. We are asking for a sign-up for this so we can plan the amount of food to provide and for dietary requirements.
• There is no cost for the food; you can make a donation to the church if you wish.
• You can just come to the communion service, which should start around 7.00pm. You do not have to sign up for this.

St Barnabas Swanland

Welcome to St. Barnabas - a Church in the village of Swanland, a few miles west of Hull in East Yorkshire, where everyone is welcome.

Our 10.00 am Sunday services are friendly and relaxed, and we offer activities for different age groups. As part of the local community in Swanland, we love to share happy events such as weddings and christenings and we are here to help during some of life's difficult times.   Or perhaps you need some quiet space or someone to talk to or to pray with.   If so, please contact us, or turn up - Sunday at 10.00 am or Monday-Thursday from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon - our church is open and I am usually in the church building at this time.

If you want to know more, sign up here to receive regular details of our church activities (you can unsubscribe at any time).

Our church is made up of ordinary people.   We're not perfect, but we are continuing to learn more about God’s love and the difference He can make in our lives.

We would love to welcome you here.

Revd. Kevin Barnard (Vicar)
