Welcome to St Barnabas, Swanland
A church where everyone is welcome.
St Barnabas is the Church of England parish church for Swanland.
Whether you've been a Christian for many years, are returning to church, have recently moved to the area, or are simply curious about faith, you are welcome at St Barnabas.
Join us on Sunday
Join us at 10 am on Sunday for a relaxed Church of England service, with modern songs, Bible readings and a short talk relating the Bible to our everyday lives, as well as time praying for the world, our community and ourselves. Stay afterwards for an informal time where we gather in the lounge for tea/coffee and a chat.

You don't have to have all the answers before coming to church; whether you are curious about Christianity, have questions about faith, or would simply like to find out more, you will still be welcome on Sunday. From time to time, we run Alpha, an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and informal setting. You don't need to be a Christian or know anything about the Bible to take part. Contact us to find out more.
Part of the community
As part of the local community in Swanland, we love to share happy
events such as weddings (contact us if you are getting married in church elsewhere and need to have your banns read here) and christenings. We are here to help
during some of life's difficult times, including bereavement; we take funerals for those who lived in Swanland at the church or crematorium, whether or not they attended church.
What's on during the week?
There are a variety of activities and groups at St Barnabas during the week, including:
- 'Cygnets' – our popular baby and toddler group
- 'Coffee Plus...' - our regular coffee morning open to all
- Prayer and opportunities to explore faith
- Special services and events throughout the year
Whether you're looking to explore your faith, meet people locally, find an activity for your family or simply get to know the church, you're welcome to join us.
