A quiet placeThere are times when we need some peace; somewhere to sit and think or maybe a quiet place to pray. Many of us enjoy sitting on one of the benches at church, enjoying the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. But don’t let the winter weather put you off: come into church and find some quietness and a moment to take a breath - and maybe even have a conversation with God.Take a look at the stained glassWe have beautiful stained glass windows throughout the church in commemoration of loved ones and illustrating stories from the bible. And of course, we have our Millennium Window. Installed only twenty years ago, the window depicts the four seasons in images of farming, nature and God’s creation around us. And at the heart of the window is an old map of Long Riston. The detail is amazing: how many animals and signs of the seasons can you find in the window? And take a look at the work of our school and village groupsWe display work from school and from any of our creative village groups. Themes and displays will change with the time of year. Take a look and see how clever and artistic some of our pupils and community are.Dogs are welcome in churchSo if you’re visiting the churchyard or just passing-by with your dog, then please turn right; take a moment to come into church. Dogs are very welcome; we have stone floors!
