Mothering Sunday is a day honouring mother churches, the church where one is baptised and becomes "a child of the church", celebrated since the Middle Ages in the United Kingdom, Ireland and some Commonwealth countries
on the fourth Sunday in Lent.
On Mothering Sunday, Christians have historically visited their mother church—the church in which they received
the sacrament of baptism.

St Catherine's Church, Arram Road, Leconfield HU17 7NP

St Catherine's Church is set in the village of Leconfield near Beverley, built in the 1600's. It had strong links to the former RAF base and this is reflected both inside and out, with the Polish war graves and a chapel.
