The Runway is a not for profit, fairtrade church coffee shop in the heart of the Martlesham Heath community. We offer a wide range of drinks and cakes all at a very reasonable price. Several small groups meet here each week, but many people come in just for refreshments and company.

Our team is made up of mostly volunteers and there is nearly always a Chaplin on hand should you wish to use them.

Friends on Friday is a drop-in group that meets on Fridays from 10am – 12pm in St Michael’s Church Hall. There are a wide range of activities available including snooker, table tennis, jigsaws, board games (speed scrabble is usually the most popular!) colouring in and crosswords, or you may just also want to sit and chat.

The doors to the Runway Café are open where drinks and cakes etc are available, once you’ve ordered the Runway Team will bring it through your order through for you. At 11.00 there is a pause for a few minutes for a brief ‘thought of the day’.

Everyone is welcomed to this very relaxed, informal and friendly group. There is no need to book a place, just come along for fellowship and friendship.

The Pop Up Shop opens from 11.30 - 12.00pm on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. However we would very warmly invite you to our Church service (which starts at 10am) and /or for tea and coffee after the Church service (normally around 11.15am).

Evensong is a traditional evening prayer service held in the Anglican Church, rich in history and spiritual significance. At St. John's Brightwell, the Evensong service is a cherished tradition.

Attending the Evensong service at St. John's Brightwell is a deeply enriching experience. It offers a moment of peace and contemplation, allowing individuals to connect with their faith and find solace in the rhythmic beauty of the liturgy and music. Whether you are a regular attendee or a visitor, you will find the Evensong service a memorable and spiritually fulfilling part of your week.

This is a drop in café for 11–16-year-olds running on Tuesdays in the church and the Runway café from 3.30 – 5.30pm. Young people are able to just hang out, play board games, play (very antiquated!) computer games, pool, snooker table tennis and table football. We have a tuck shop selling sweets, various drinks and provides free squash.

A said communion service with a short sermon. Followed by a chat over tea or coffee.

The third Sunday of each month is our relaxed and informal Morning Worship Service.

St. Michael’s Church is more than just a place of worship; it is a vibrant centre of community where individuals, couples and families come together to support and uplift one another. The morning worship service is an opportunity to connect, share joys and concerns, and strengthen their bonds of fellowship. Following the service, many stay for a time of fellowship and refreshment, enjoying tea, coffee, and the warmth of friendly conversation.

At St Mary's we take a more traditional approach to worship than at our sister church, St Michael's. Most services are Common Worship with organ accompaniment.

An opportunity for men to join together for fellowship, bacon rolls, tea and coffee. Each week there is a short talk to give us something to think about and discuss around the breakfast table.

Women Together meets once a month for various activities. Usually at St Michael's Church but sometimes on different locations. It's a great chance to meet with other women and share life. For details of what's coming up this term, take a look at the Newsletter or email [email protected]

Join us at 9:30 for coffee & pastries followed at 10.00am by Breakfast Church, a very informal, café style and interactive meeting.

Our monthly Benefice day of prayer and fasting is the first Tuesday of every month. There are many different ways that we can fast, and it doesn't necessarily have to be food. Perhaps staying off social media or not switching the TV on all day. Some of us will feel compelled to fast from food for the whole day, some may fast for just one meal, others may simply not have the biscuits with our afternoon cup of tea. Whichever way you fast, what's important is that you intentionally spend more time with God. That can be in prayer, reading scripture, or just being still in God's presence.

The monthly prayer meeting will be from 7.00 - 7.45pm and will be held in the chapel at St Michael's. We have a 'prayer booklet' with many things that we can pray for, however you are not limited to it. There is no obligation to pray out loud and no expectation that we will have well formulated sonnets of prayer. You can offer a prayer of just a few words, some of the most heartfelt prayers can be as simple as 'Father, I pray for tomorrow, amen.'
