Family service with lovely music and a talk. This week thinking about characters in the bible - if you could meet one - who would it be and what would you ask them? Jesus is king of the living and those who have gone before - our ancestors in the faith who lived their lives on this earth many years ago. With God, time doesn't exist as it does with us on the earth. God is the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.
This is a Service of Memories at which we remember those we have loved and lost, placing the names that you have written on the slips of paper in the bowls at the back of each church on the high altar before God and we read out the names of those folk whose funerals or burials of ashes we have conducted over the last year. The Brantham Community Choir will be singing in the service. Bereaved families have been personally invited to attend but anyone is welcome to come. Grief is a long journey and can be as raw 30 years later as it was on the day of the death.
This gathering starts at 4pm and finishes by 5pm.Short session with a focus - this month - LIGHT - followed by a craft activity and a song. Then chatting with others over cake and drinks. All welcome - very friendly and informal.
