Climate themed service

Occuring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St John the Baptist Stamford Bridge
Address
Moor Road Stamford Bridge York, YO41 1BJ, United Kingdom

A service to celebrate what we do at St Johns Church and in our local community to protect nature, the climate, and work for climate justice.
Come and tell us what you are doing, and what you appreciate others in our community are doing – eg houses for wildlife, planting insect-friendly plants, using renewable energy, etc Ask people and groups you know, and invite them to the service to tell us about it, and help us think about how we can support each other to protect the climate and work for climate justice – including meeting the Church of England’s pledge to become carbon net zero by 2030.
There will be a Fair Trade stall and refreshments afterwards, so we have an opportunity for people to get together informally and discuss what else we can do to protect the climate.
We hope to make a display to show what people in Stamford Bridge are doing to protect the climate.
We will be planting our seeds for justice , and exploring our churchyard looking at what we are already doing, (did you know we have a hedgehog house?) and what more we can do.
If you can’t come along in person, send us a picture of what you are doing, or ideas about how you think our church can become carbon net zero.

St John the Baptist Stamford Bridge

St John the Baptist Stamford Bridge is part of the Stamford Bridge Group of Parishes in the Diocese of York.  We are a Fairtrade church in the heart of our community and aim to be a congregation where everyone can find a warm welcome.  The other churches in the group are All Saints Catton, and St Peter and St Paul's Scrayingham.
