Jenny Segger Rural Dean led us through a final communion service celebrating over 20 years ministry together with the six North Samford benefice churches as we said goodbye to Belstead, Burstall, Copdock with Washbrook, and Sproughton, who will reform with a new rector.
Tattingstone and Bentley will be joining with Brantham and East Bergholt in a newly created grouping called The Constable Country Churches.
65 worshippers attended a joyful service and fellowship and cake afterwards as we said goodbye to old friends. Big thanks and gifts were also given to Sarah Hall who has been sponsored by our Benefice for training and now is moving on to become curate at St. Augustine’s Ipswich. Sarah has been a great help to us in taking services and pastoral advice particularly since we are in vacancy since 17/08/2022.
A big thank you too to all who helped prepare, serve refreshments and wash up afterwards. Our grateful thanks too for the mature cleaning team who did such a good job 👏 on Saturday getting the church building in such good shape for the service. It looked fabulous.
Bentley now looks forward to the job in hand as we celebrate and mark our new working arrangements starting next Sunday 4th June at an evening service at Brantham.
