The local churches in East York are again gathering to mark the day with a walk of witness. The walk begins at St Aelred’s Church at 11am where there is opportunity to pray the stations of the Cross. The walk continues along Melrosegate to Holy Trinity and Heworth Methodist Chapel and then turns along Tang Hall Lane finishing at St Hilda’s Church. A Cross is carried to leadthe walk and along the way there are pauses for prayer and readings. At St Hilda’s church everyone is welcomed for hot cross buns and tea or coffee.
Please join the walk if you are able but you are also welcome to come for refreshments just
before 12 noon when the walkers arrive.
Following the refreshments there will be a short service of meditation. Other churches
though welcome to stay, of course, will be leaving for their own Good Friday acts of worship.
