St Wilfrid's Brayton

St Wilfrid’s is the ancient parish church located in Brayton that continues to serve and minister to the whole community of the modern parish. We offer a range of styles of worship, from more traditional/formal to contemporary.

Sunday Services include bi-monthly Holy Communion at 8am, and a revolving programme of Lay led Morning Prayer, Family Communion, Celtic Communion and Holy Communion with Prayer and Anointing for Healing at 10:30am. The Sunday 10:30am services are often available via livestream.

We also celebrate Holy Communion on Wednesdays at 9:30am.

The monthly Alive@5 for families is restarting at 5pm on Sunday 15th September with songs, crafts, games and light refreshments. There will be informal worship aimed at families with primary school aged children, but all ages are welcome.

We hold several community events in the Parish Hall offering fellowship and company over a simple meal or refreshments. All are welcome to our Community Lunch on the 1st Wednesday 12 noon to 1.30 pm, Craft Group Coffee Morning on the second Saturday of the month 10 am to 11.30 pm, and Coffeemates,10 am to 12 noon on the 4th Wednesday of the month.

We are an inclusive church, forging community and proclaiming God’s love. We welcome everyone as fellow travellers in life wherever you may be on your spiritual journey.

St Wilfrid’s is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Representative Linda Bunn, telephone 07711 384003, email [email protected].

The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
