About Us
Heslington Church is a local ecumenical partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church together with the Roman Catholic Chaplaincy to the University of York.
All services of worship are held jointly between Anglicans and Methodists.
Our congregation is an eclectic mix of ages, backgrounds and nationalities. We seek to be an open, caring and inclusive church and everyone is welcome to worship with us.
The church building is on the edge of the University of York campus, in the village of Heslington, close to the city of York.
The church was extended in the 1970's and now houses several meeting rooms, kitchen, toilet facilities and a church office which is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The main church seats around 250 and has moveable pews and a small beautifully decorated side chapel which is used for small services. Rooms in the building are available for hire by suitable groups and is regularly used by various community groups.
The church has an active Mother's Union, Gardening Volunteering Group, Brownies and Rainbows. It sponsors the local Scout, Cub and Beaver packs.
