Friends of All Saints host Peter Cliff - The Adventures of a Mountain Guide

Occuring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
All Saints Newton on Ouse
Address
Cherry Tree Avenue Newton-on-Ouse York, YO30 2BL, United Kingdom

In a change to our advertised programme, we welcome Peter Cliff, President of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA) representing 8,000 guides worldwide.

Peter was born and brought up in Crayke, where his father was a farmer – and a very good skier - and it was on family ski trips to the Alps at a young age that Peter developed an interest in, and a passion for, mountains. In this illustrated talk, he describes how you become a mountain guide and talks frankly about some of the challenges of this dangerous profession.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Newton-on-Ouse: All Saints is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
