If you live within the Parish, are on the electoral roll or die within a Parish you may have a funeral service in church or the vicar will go to the crematorium (or both). The average cost of a service and burial in church is around £725 (funeral director & grave digger costs not included), the cost of being buried in a council cemetery can be over double the cost. On the whole the total cost of a burial service in church or a cremation and interment is similar.
