I have really appreciated my time ministering amongst you, as parish and pioneer priest. This has been a time of growth for me, as I continue to seek to serve God in rural mission and I have many happy memories. I love our worship on Sunday mornings, midweek prayer times, outdoor worship, all together family services, and hub ministry unit services. I have been blessed by our midweek gatherings at Food for Thought and Connect – becoming a community of the word and praying to grow as disciples of Jesus. I consider all occasional offices a privilege, journeying alongside families at key life moments. I have also relished all the work in Bishopthorpe and Appleton primary school, as well as a brief time at Askham Grange Open Prison. I am pleased to see how we as AAA Benefice and ABC Benefice arejourneying towards being a closer group of churches. Our social events have been lovely too: Sax Forte concert, Village Coronation Cream tea, Call my bluff wine tasting, Classical guitar concert to name a few.I want to say a big thank you for all your kindness towards myself, Paul and our family, including Chester. I will miss being with you, but look forward to hearing from time to timehow you are doing.
