At All Saints Appleton we are committed to finding different ways of doing church with activities and experiences for families, not sitting in pews! Since April 2023 Roots: Forest Church has engaged with 19 different families who do not otherwise come to church. However, we have been unsuccessful in growing a Roots church community and so we know that the time, the day, the monthly aspect, as well as maybe the outdoor nature of our gatherings doesn’t suit all families.

But all is not wasted! God is good! We’ve build a fab team and we are really pleased to signpost families wishing to engage with exploring faith with their chidren to 2 family specific services that take place locally in Copmanthorpe and Askham Bryan:

Week 1 of the month Sunday@3 – St Giles Church, Copmanthorpe 3-4pm

Week 2 of the month Messy Church – Askham Bryan College Conference Centre, 3-5pm

Our local churches are collaborating more, sharing services and resources. We hope Roots will be back in some way, so look out in the spring / summer for some Pop Up Outdoor services – a Pet service for sure!
