Remembrance Sunday service - November 10th

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Mary's
Address
Clensmore Street Kidderminster, DY10 2JN, United Kingdom

Each year the Mayor of Kidderminster, councillors and representatives from the forces and community groups gather at the Angel of Peace in front of St Mary's Church to observe Remembrance Sunday - honouring those who have lost their lives in warfare and in the defence of this country.
The observance begins outdoors at the Memorial, with the two minutes silence and wreath laying. Then we move into church to complete the service.
The event begins at 10.45 am when the procession will have arrived from the Town Hall. The service in church will end by 12 noon.
All are welcome to share in this special occasion.

St Mary's

St Mary's is the historic Parish Church of Kidderminster. On most Sundays at least 50 of our regular members will be present to offer praise and prayers to God, and to be refreshed and equipped to live out our Christian life in the week ahead.  Because of our place in the history of Kidderminster we are often the location for civic services for the whole town - most notably on Remembrance Sunday each year.  We welcome anyone who wants to join us for worship or our other activities, or to step into the beauty of the building - a place where God's presence can bring calm and stillness in the hectic rush of life.

Our Sunday worship is traditional with a robed choir and hymns accompanied by the organ. Families and children are welcome .

The church is a historic building.  During the summer months we welcome visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays  (from 11 am to 3 pm) who come to explore this building where prayer has been offered for centuries.  Look at this website around Easter 2025 to see when this will begin again.

We exist to honour God and proclaim the Gospel, to nourish followers of Jesus Chist and to serve the community.   We are part of a Local Ecumenical Partnership with Trinity Methodist and a member of Churches Together in Kidderminster supporting the Foodbank and Street Pastors in the town.
