St Mary's

St Mary's is the historic Parish Church of Kidderminster.  It is the beautiful place where our church members and visitors gather every Sunday to offer praise and prayers to God, and to be refreshed and equipped to live out our Christian life in the week ahead.  Because of its place in the history of Kidderminster we are often the location for civic services for the whole town - most notably on Remembrance Sunday each year.  We welcome anyone who wants to join us for worship or our other activities, or to step into the beauty of the building - a place where God's presence can bring calm and stillness in the hectic rush of life.

Our Sunday worship is traditional with a robed choir and hymns accompanied by the organ. Families and children are welcome .

The church is a historic building.  From April to the end of September we welcome visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays  (from 11 am to 3 pm) who come to explore this building where prayer has been offered for centuries.   Check our "St Mary's Open Church" item on the next page to check dates.

We exist to honour God and proclaim the Gospel, to nourish followers of Jesus Chist and to serve the community.   We are part of a Local Ecumenical Partnership with Trinity Methodist and a member of Churches Together in Kidderminster supporting the Foodbank and Street Pastors in the town.

We invite you to join us for services marking the greatest week in the Christian year.

Sunday 13th April at 11 am – PALM SUNDAY
We remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey - he came in peace and the crowds waved their palm branches.
Come and hear the story leading up to his crucifixion.

Thursday 17th April at 7 pm – MAUNDY THURSDAY
This is the day of Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples. He garev new words, new meaning to the Bread and Wine. He showed his humility by washing his disciples' feet. And he spent time in the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount of olives before he was arrested and taken away to be killed.
We recall all this in our service,

Friday 18th April at 2 pm – GOOD FRIDAY
Pause and reflect on the day Jesus died on the cross.
We welcome Canon Roger Spiller who leads this service. Roger who lives near Pershore is a theological educator, one-time Diocesan Director of Ministry for Coventry Diocese. He is Chair of Trustees of the College of Preachers.

Sunday 20th April at 11 am – EASTER DAY
Bring flowers to decorate the cross
as we celebrate Jesus risen from the dead.
Alleluia - Christ is risen!
