Ash Wednesday Eucharist

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St John the Baptist
Address
St John the Baptist, Bewdley Road Kidderminster Worcestershire (On A456 Bewdley Road, Kidderminster), DY11 6RL, United Kingdom

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - the 40-day season that leads up to Holy Week and Easter. The whole season of Lent is an opportunity for spiritual growth and reflection on how we live our lives. Ash Wednesday in particular is a chance to be reminded of God's goodness, and to acknowledge our own slips and failings.

St John's has an Ash Wednesday eucharist (the service where we receive the blessed bread and wine). It also is a service where worshippers can have the sign of the cross marked on their foreheads in ash - hence the name of the day.

The service is at 10am - and all are welcome to share in it.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Kidderminster St John the Baptist & Holy Innocents is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Worcester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Doreen Baker (Parish Safeguarding Officer, KWTM) 07827703776 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor 01905 732800. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
