Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be

written for our learning:

help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and
inwardly digest them that,
through patience, and the comfort of your
the hope of everlasting life,

which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Retirement of Archdeacon Robert Jones
The Bishop has announced that the farewell service to
mark the Archdeacon’s retirement will be on Sunday
19 November at 4.00pm in the cathedral.
The Bishop describes him as everyone’s favourite
priest. Robert has served the Worcester Diocese for
43 years which includes 9 as Archdeacon. The Bishop
again says he has been brilliant! and he was certainly
a breath of fresh air where the upper echelons of the
Church of England are concerned.
If you wish to mark Robert’s retirement with a gift
donations can be made to The Worcester Diocesan
Board of Finance, Lloyds Bank, The Cross, Worcester.

Reflections on Morogoro – Tanzania
Revd Katryn from the Bredon Hill Group will be
offering reflections aided by slides on her recent
diocesan led visit to Morogoro in Tanzania, on
Wednesday 15 November at 7.00pm at Ashton Free
Church, Ashton under Hill. All are welcome.
Katryn will reflect on the work of the bible college
there and Berega Hospital, and the way mainly rural
communities are adapting to climate changes through

innovation.

Revd Katryn Leclezio helped Revd Claire as she
prepared for her ministry in The Bowland Benefice.

Broughton Hackett

29 October is a 5 th -Sunday-in-the-month so there is
one service in the Benefice. The Bowland Service of
Holy Communion will be held in Broughton Hackett.
Revd Claire and the congregation of St Leonard’s look

friends and neighbours in this lovely little church for

worship and fellowship.

On 5 November at 4.00pm an afternoon All-Age

Confirmation

We send prayers and best wishes to Ellie McGhee and
Anthea Buckthorp, both from Peopleton who are to
be confirmed by Bishop John in Fladbury next Sunday

on 5 November.

Lord, You send out Your Spirit to touch the hearts of

Ellie and Anthea,

so that they may believe in You and in Jesus whom

You sent.

Look kindly on them at their Confirmation
as they listen to Your voice.

Open their hearts to Your Spirit and bring to fulfilment

the good work that
You have begun in them. Amen.
